Clark Acres
Home Raised
All the puppies will be spending the first months of their lives here at Clark Acres. Clark Acres is a family home in Ohio with acres of grass, hills, trees, and even a pond. When they are of appropriate age they will be socialized and introduced to as many environments as possible. They will be introduced to many adults and young children, and to dogs other than their parents. They will also be introduced to another member of many American families, cats! This is all done in an attempt to prepare the dogs for their future in our world.
Training
Rhodesian Ridgebacks do best when they are trained at an early age. Crate training is highly recommended for new puppies. They need to learn to handle being home alone, and crate training is the best way to make them feel comfortable and safe when they are alone. Also, they require excercise on a daily basis to prevent them from becoming frustrated and to keep them from developing behavior problems. If you are not willing to provide mental and physical stimulation, then this not the right breed for you. They also enjoy having another dog to play with, whether it is another dog in your household, a friends dog, or regular trips to a dog park. Many people fall in love with the breed so much that they end up buying another ridgeback to keep him/her company. If you follow these guidlines your puppy will become a loving addition to your family.
